Thank you

I started last night trying to prepare folks for a bad result in the Primary. Council District 7 is the quintessential swing district so it seemed likely the result would be tight or perhaps leaning the other direction. It turns out I'm pretty bad at reading these things.

We're currently up 61.4% to Olson's 38.6%.

11:00am Monday Study Session

Crisis Stability Center (Diversion Center) Presentation
Presenter: Steve O’Ban, Senior Counsel for Behavioral Health, Executive’s Office

Right now people suffering from behavioral health crises in Pierce County often end up in jail or the ER where they don’t get the help they need and costs to the system are much higher. This facility would provide an alternative to divert them into care and away from incarceration or hospital boarding. There’s currently one similar facility in Fife. It’s anticipated that the same company will operate this one.

In addition to the capital funds, the County will be contributing property to the project. Great job by Executive Dammeier and his team, and of course to the Pierce County legislative delegation, for pulling this together.

With three members away from the office this week, we've got a fairly light calendar, but we'll still be hard at work using that time to catch up on a number of projects that need attention like the Broadband Study, Key Peninsula Addressing, and Opioid Task Force.
